Our TP: Tamang Pasasalamat

A few months back, I remember saying, “Alam niyo, dream ko talaga yung get-together ng ALDUB Nation. Parang music fest kasi marami tayong magagaling na musicians sa fandom, tapos meet and greet ng Wattpad authors, then yung artists, display nila yung works nila.”

I was that specific. Pero pangarap lang po yun – pangarap na hindi ko inakalang magkakatotoo kasi, in Maine’s words, sino ba naman ako?

Pero ganun pala yun, when you whisper a dream that’s meant to be, the universe conspires to make it happen.

And the universe did. It happened.

Because October 16, 2016 was the realization of a dream – not just MY dream, but that of the whole ALDUB Nation.

The event was spearheaded by 10 people; you know us as the ADN Fest OrgComm. But did you know that behind us was an army of more than 100 workers and a whole nation as support?

For the next few days, you will read stories about how the ADN Fest came to be, straight from the people who were at the front lines. But for now, we are saying THANK YOU.

Since day 1, sobrang dami ng taong tumulong. Our inboxes were flooded with messages offering help.

“Ate, may contact na ba kayo sa ganitong sponsor? Eto po, o. Baka makatulong.”

“Ate, baka kailangan niyo ng tao para sa ganito, andito lang po ako.”

Hindi po namin kayang isa-isahin ang lahat ng tumulong para mabuo ang event na ito. We don’t want to miss anybody out. Pero alam niyo po kung sino kayo, at kung ano ang papel na ginampanan niyo sa fest, and for that, we will forever be grateful.

Most of all, to Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, thank you for coming – and for actually staying. It was more than what we ever hoped for.
